2048 Legend is one of those simple-but-deadly puzzle games where you slide numbered tiles around a grid, and when two tiles with the same number collide, they merge into one tile worth double. The whole point is to create that 2048 tile before you run out of room to move.

The premise sounds almost too easy. You've got a 4x4 board, you swipe in any direction, and matching numbers combine. But here's where it gets you—every single move matters. One wrong slide and suddenly your board is chaos, with your high-value tiles scattered everywhere and nowhere to build them up.

How to Play

When you first load the game, you'll see two tiles already on the board—almost always 2s or 4s. Here's what you do:

• On a computer: Use your arrow keys to slide everything in that direction, or try WASD if you prefer
• On mobile: Just swipe in any direction on your screen

After every move, a new tile pops up somewhere on the board—usually a 2, occasionally a 4. The game ends when you fill the grid completely and can't make any more moves.

My best advice for starting out: pick a corner and commit to it. I mean really commit. Keep your highest tile in one spot (bottom-right is popular) and don't let it wander around. Sounds simple, but this one habit will actually make a huge difference in how long you last.

Think ahead before you swipe. I'm terrible at this—always swiping first, thinking later—and I get stuck constantly. Try to scan the board first and look for where matching numbers could line up. Once two tiles collide, they disappear and their sum takes their place. So 4+4 becomes 8, 8+8 becomes 16, and so on.

One more thing: don't rush. The game has no timer, so there's no penalty for taking your time. I know it's tempting to just keep swiping, but a moment of thought prevents a lot of frustration.

2048 Legend is one of those games that's easy to learn but hard to master. Give it a few rounds and you'll see what I mean.
